The Bernina Lady proudly presents the work of her Motley Cru. What is the Motley Cru you ask? It began because all purchasers of a new Bernina machine are asked to attend classes once a month for one year to learn about their new machine. Different projects and techniques are covered during the 12 months and a bond often develops between the teacher and her students.
In one such group, the teacher watched each lady sew and grow from month to month, soon discovering in six ladies a common bond.
Once the classes were finished the students did not want to finish with their learning and thus the Motley Cru was formed.
The Motley Cru now gets together every two weeks and works on different projects with different techniques.
The students really don't need much teaching now as they have all grown into wonderful quilt artists. Even though our home at That Cotton Pickin' Quilt Shop is gone, we are committed to getting together to continue our sewing and friendship.
That is what, in Bernina Lady's opinion, sewing and quilting is all about.
On a personal note, Jeanne (Bernina Lady) is so very proud of each one of these ladies and gets just as much out of the get-togethers as the girls do. The work they are doing now is amazing.
Hats off to my Motley Cru: Jan, Marilyn, Mary, Marjorie, Mary Jane and Carol. Carol and her husband have moved to Vancouver and we will all miss them. I am inspired by you all.
